With Independence Day coming up quickly, it's easy to get caught up in the midst of other summer time activities and forget about preparing for the 4th of July. Never fear, we're here to help with some last minute pointers.
Pick your plans
Whether you want to take the family to the fireworks or go to your friend's 4th of July party, it's important to choose early where you'd like to go. Otherwise, you may quickly find you're scrambling at the last second for Independence Day plans.
If you choose a cookout - whether you're hosting or attending - for the 4th, make sure you hit the grocery store early in the week. Going shopping on the 4th of July can be a madhouse, so be sure to plan ahead here, as well.
If you're the type to (safely) shoot off fireworks or even bring along some sparklers for the kids, make sure you stock up well in advance. Just like food, pyrotechnics go quickly before the 4th!
Bring your blanket
No matter what your 4th of July plans may bring, a blanket will always be the perfect accessory: whether Independence Day means a fireworks show or a backyard BBQ.
