For most of us, getting a cool night's rest is the key to sound sleep. This becomes more difficult in the hot summer months, especially as we head into July and August. Never fear, though, there are plenty of ways to sleep more comfortably on a hot summer night.
1. Shower first
Hopping in a cool shower before bed is a great way to cool off and get your body temperature down before catching some z's. Plus, in the heat, you'll love knowing you're fresh and clean before getting under the sheets!
2. Keep a fan going
It may sound obvious, but keeping a fan going during the night will certainly cool you off. More energy efficient than air conditioning, a ceiling fan or a small fan in front of an open window will keep air circulating. You can even try placing a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan to keep your bedroom even cooler.
